Appearance
New York Shipbuilding Corporation was a major American shipbuilding company based in Camden, New Jersey, that operated from 1899 to 1967. It was one of the largest shipyards in the United States, building vessels for the U.S. Navy and commercial operators. Workers at the shipyard were exposed to asbestos used extensively in ship construction, leading to elevated rates of mesothelioma and asbestos-related disease among former employees.
